Design Modals Responsibly
Components · modals
Updated 2026-07-28
Modals interrupt the current workflow.
Use them only when:
A decision is required.
Information needs focus.
The action is important.
Avoid using modals for:
Simple messages.
Non-critical updates.
Marketing interruptions.
Good modals:
Have a clear purpose.
Have obvious actions.
Allow escape when appropriate.
A modal should earn the interruption.
