Design Forms as Conversations
Forms & Inputs · forms
Updated 2026-07-28
Forms are not data collection tools. They are conversations between the product and the user.
Every field creates a question:
Why are you asking?
What should I enter?
What happens next?
Reduce friction:
Remove unnecessary fields.
Use smart defaults.
Autofill whenever possible.
Group related information:
Personal details.
Address.
Payment.
Preferences.
Never make users complete work the system could do automatically.
A good form feels like guidance, not paperwork.
